Fujitsu Mini Split Remote Symbols Explained
Fujitsu is one of the most popular mini split brands. One of the reasons is Fujitsu mini splits have a lot of functions and features that can be activated using their remote controller.
However, some of the symbols are not common among other mini splits. So, many owners want to understand what each of the symbols displayed on the remote controller means.
Thus, I studied the most complicated Fujitsu mini split remote controller and list down all of the symbols, icons and modes with a quick explanation.

Energy Saving Symbol
The Energy Saving function is activated by default. Under this mode, if there is no one in the room for approximately 20 minutes, the temperature will be adjusted higher for cooling and lower for heating to save energy.

Low Noise Symbol
When the OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE button on the Fujitsu mini split remote controller is pressed, the Low Noise symbol will be displayed. When this function is activated, the rotation number of the compressor decreases and the outdoor unit fan rotates slowly to reduce noise.

Auto Mode Symbol
When the Auto Mode symbol is displayed on the Daikin mini split remote controller, the mini split automatically changeover between cooling and heating according to the room temperature and the set temperature at start-up.

Heat Mode Symbol
When the MODE button on the Fujitsu mini split remote controller is pressed until Heat Mode, the unit will provide normal heating. At first, the unit will automatically start with a low fan speed and then gradually move back to your set fan speed. At any given time during this mode, the defrost function will automatically kicks in when necessary.

Cool Mode Symbol
When the MODE button on the Fujitsu mini split remote controller is pressed until Cool Mode, the unit will provide normal cooling. Set the temperature to your desired room temperature and the unit will try to maintain that temperature. Dehumidification is done during the cooling process.

Dry Mode Symbol
When the MODE button on the Fujitsu mini split remote controller is pressed until Dry Mode, the unit will prioritize dehumidification. In Dry Mode, the unit will still provide mild cooling.

Fan Mode Symbol
When the MODE button on the Fujitsu mini split remote controller is pressed until Fan Mode, the unit will run its fan only. Temperature control is not available. By default, the fan will operate intermittently to save energy when the room temperature reaches the setpoint.

Auto Fan Symbol
When Auto Fan is selected, the fan speed will be automatically adjusted depending on the operating condition. The fan speed automatically increases if the room temperature is higher than the setpoint in cooling mode and decreases if the room temperature is lower than the setpoint in heating mode.

Vertical Swing Symbol
When the vertical swing SET button on Fujitsu mini split remote controller is pressed, up to 6 vertical positions of the airflow louver can be changed. Each time the button is pressed, the louver will move to a new position.

Horizontal Swing Symbol
When the horizontal swing SET button on Fujitsu mini split remote controller is pressed, up to 5 vertical positions of the airflow louver can be changed. Each time the button is pressed, the louver will move to a new position.

Auto Swing Symbol
When Auto Swing is activated, the mini split will continuously move its airflow louver both vertically and horizontally. In cooling and dry mode, the louver will swing vertically at a higher position. In heating mode, the louver will swing vertically at a lower position. The louver will swing horizontally at all modes.

Timer Symbol
A bunch of time and date symbols on the Fujitsu mini split remote controller is the Timer symbol. You can set a weekly on/off schedule or a daily schedule by pressing the timer button on the remote controller.

All of the above Fujitsu mini split remote symbols can be found in the respective mini split remote controller user manual that should come with the mini split system. Using the function at the right time can help improve comfort while saving more energy.
